
It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rav Yaakov Yisroel zt”l, Rosh Yeshivas Ner Shmuel in the Har Nof neighborhood of Yerushalayim, who passed away after contracting the coronavirus.
Rav Yisroel passed away at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Yerushalayim. He was 70 years old.
Rav Yisroel was born in France. His father was Rav Meir Yisroel.
Rav Yisroel learned at Yeshiva Bais Yosef-Novardok and immersed himself in Torah learned.
He lived for many years in France, where he taught Torah at the Novardok Yeshiva. He later immigrated to the Holy Land and settled in Beit Shemesh.
He was later appointed as Rosh Yeshiva at Yeshiva Ner Shmuel in Har Nof, where over the years he put many talmidim on the path of Torah and instilled in them the hashkafos of his rabbeim.
He leaves behind a family of bnei and bnos Torah.
The levayah was held at Yeshiva Ner Shmuel, followed by kevurah on Har Hamenuchos.
