Rav Yechiel Bohbot zt”l

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rav Yechiel Bohbot zt”l, rov of Kiryat Shemona for many years. He was 92.

His passing comes at a tragic time for his family, as just two weeks ago, his son, the rov of Tiveriah, Rav Moshe Tzvi Boruch Bohbot zt”l, was niftar.

Rav Yechiel immigrated to Israel from Casablanca, Morocco, and settled in Kiryat Shemona, where he later served as the city’s rov, as mentioned.

Rav Yechiel was an outstanding talmid chochom and a nechbah al hakeilim, a humble but pious Yid who spent his life devoted to the service of Hashem, He was one of the senior rabbonim of Kollel Yechaveh Daas led by Rav Dovid Yosef in the Har Nof neighborhood.

The levayah was held at Bais Medrash Yechaveh Daas on Rechov Agassi in the Har Nof neighborhood of Yerushalayim and kevurah took place on Har Hamenuchos.
