Rav Yisroel Greinemann zt”l

It is with great sadness that we report the passing today of Rav Yisroel Greinemann zt”l following a severe illness. He was 45.

Immediately after the passing of his grandfather, Rav Chaim Shaul Greinemann zt”l, last year, it was discovered that Rav Yisroel had contracted a difficult disease.

Rav Yisroel was born on 28 Sivan 1970. He was a son of Rav Yitzchok Dovid Greinemann, oldest son of Rav Chaim Shaul Greinemann.

In his younger years, he attended Yeshiva Zichron Michoel in Zichron Ya’akov, where he ultimately settled after his marriage to a daughter of Rav Menachem Mendel Reissner, and in recent years he moved to Bnei Brak. He studied at the Kollel Taharos of Rav Michel Yehuda Lefkowitz zt”l and was among the prominent avreichim there.

Rav Yisroel authored the seforim Shai Lamora on masechtos haShas and spent his years immersed in limud haTorah, even during difficult periods of illness and tribulation.

He is survived by nine children, two of whom are married.

The levaya was held earlier tonight at the Bais Medrash of Rav Chaim Greinemann zt”l on Rechov Chiddushei Harim in Bnei Brak, followed by kevurah at the Shomrei Shabbos Zichron Meir Bais Hachaim in Bnei Brak.
