candle-small6It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rav Yisroel Ungar z”l of Skver. Rav Unger was a son-in-law of Harav Shmuel Halevi Wosner shlit”a, one of the senior poskim in Eretz Yisroel, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva Chachmei Lublin, recently retired rov of the Zichron Meir neighborhood in Bnei Brak, and author of the multi-volume Shevet Halevi. Rav Ungar was 69.

Rav Ungar had contracted the H1N1 swine flu virus but tragically never recovered. The levaya was held last night at the main bais medrash in New Square, where Rav Ungar resided.

Yehi zichro boruch.
