It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rav Yitzchok Asher Rozsansky zt”l, dean and founder of Tiferes Bais Yaakov Elementary School of Lakewood.

Rav Rozsansky had been feeling unwell and was in the hospital, where he suffered a heart attack.

Rav Rozsansky was a talmid chochom, a yorei Shomayim, and an exemplary baal middos tovos, and over the last more than two decades, he served as a rosh hamosad who showed sensitivity and care to parents and students and to anyone who he dealt with.

Rav Rozsansky was asked by local rabbonim and residents to open a school that would educate bnos Yisroel b’derech Yisroel saba, and thus he began Tiferes Bais Yaakov with a first class of twelve students.

While Tiferes Bais Yaakov grew into a large mosad, the simplicity, the values and the “small-school” flavor remained the cherished hallmarks of the school’s identity and the ideals upon which a full generation of talmidos have been nurtured into exemplary imahos b’Yisroel, all thanks to Rav Rozsansky’s vision and personal example.

Rav Rozsansky and his rebbetzin resided until just a few years ago in the Yeshiva Apartments in Lakewood, living with pashtus and humility.

Rav Rozsansky is survived by his wife, Mrs. Shulamis Rozsansky, and their wonderful family.

The levayah is being held tonight at the Congregation Sons of Israel Holocaust Memorial Chapel, located at 613 Ramsey Street, in Lakewood NJ.
