It is with great sadness that we report the passing on Monday of Rav Yosef Chaim Blau zt”l, chief rabbi of Ashkelon, at the age of 81.
Rav Blau hospitalized for the past few weeks after the passing of wife, Rebbetzin Aidel Haddasah (née Rosen) Blau a”h.
Rav Blau moved to Ashkelon from Yerushalayim in 5742, gaining renown for his leadership abilities, his Talmudic scholarship, and his love and care for every Jew.
Rav Lau is survived by his nine children and over one hundred ainiklach.
