Rav Yosef Gamliel zt”l

In the city of Ashkelon, Rav Yosef Gamliel zt”l, a senior rov of the Yemenite community in the Holy Land, passed away at the age of 106.

On the night of Seder, he attended as usual. On Motzoei Yom Tov, he ate melava malka like every week. Before going to sleep, he drank a glass of water.  He then passed away in his sleep/

Rav Galmiel was born in 1916, on the 23rd of Kislev, in Yemen. His father was Rav Yichye Gamliel.

All his life, he labored in the study of Torah, and davened at netz every day. He was known for his tzidkus and his prishus.

Even at his extreme age, he was vaccinated against the corona virus a year ago.

He leaves behind a large family, including nine children and hundreds of descendants.

The levayah was held yesterday at the Sanhedria Cemetery in Yerushalayim.
