It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rav Yosef Heisler zt”l, av bais din of Bais Din Harabani in Yerushalayim, who served for many years as an esteemed dayan. He was 84.
Rav Heisler was a son of Rav Zalman Zeidel and Mrs. Tamar Heisler.
He wife is a daughter of Rav Meir Shalom Rabinowitz.
Throughout his life, he toiled in the depths of Torah and halacha, and was famed for his heartfelt tefillah and avodas Hashem.
He was a respected posek and dayan, possessing wide ranging scholarship, and helped and guided others with sensitivity and kindness.
A year ago, his grandson, Zusha Yehuda Heisler, a talmid of Yeshivas Mir and son of Rav Mordechai Aharon Heisler, a rov in the Heichal Shmuel neighborhood of Kiryat Herzog and a dayan on the bais din for financial matters in Yerushalayim, suddenly passed away after collapsing.
His brothers are Rav Meir Heisler, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Emek HaTalmud in Yerushalayim, and Rav Noach Heisler, rov in Sanhedria Murchevet.
The levayah was held today at the Shamgar Funeral Home in Yerushalayim, passing his home at 24 Rechov Givat Shaul, followed by kevurah on Har Hazeisim.
