Rav Ovadiah Yosef, head of the Shas party’s Moetzet Chachmei Hatorah and one of the greatest Torah minds in the world today, issued strong statements regarding mechallelei Shabbos during his weekly shiur on Motzoei Shabbos.
Rav Yosef made his comments after relating the famous Gemara in Talmud Yerushalami which describes how Rav Yochanan ben Turta had an ox which he sold, but the ox refused to work on Shabbos until Rav Yochanan went to the home of the buyer and whispered into the animal’s ear that shvisah, resting, on Shabbos is only a chiyuv on a Jewish animal owner and not a non-Jewish owner. This eventually led the buyer to convert to Yiddishkeit.
“There are people who work on Shabbos and are thus worse than a beheimah,’ said Rav Yosef.

Mechallelei Shabbos are Chayiv Misa.
So if a Shabbos violator is worthy of the death penalty, HaRav Yosef’s words are stating the obvious.
What a Gadol!!!
can a “behaima” do teshuva???
#3 — anyone can.
Good gemorah example just not sure that this statement will change the minds of any who are presently shabbos violators.
The analogy is reasonable.
A beheimah follows its taivos, and does not consider the consequences of its actions prior to doing them.
Yitamu chata’im [v’lo coht’im] min ha’aretz.
The Tzadik of our Dor!
Unfortunately, calling people names is not a very effective means of leading them to do tshuvah.
he is rather trying to bring a ware about Mr. Anonymous!
They are Tinokos Shenishbu who are clueless.
…when it comes to understanding the reasonin, I certainly am (clueless, that is)!
