As new COVID-19 variants continue to circulate globally, health professionals are alerting the public to a distinctive symptom tied to these strains: a painful “razor blade throat,” which patients describe as an intense, stabbing sensation.
Across the United States, COVID-19 cases are steadily increasing and are projected to hit their highest levels in September as schools reopen. According to the CDC, infections are already climbing in 36 states.
Dr. Matthew Lokant, an infectious disease specialist at West Virginia University School of Medicine, explains that aside from the sharp throat pain, the most common symptoms linked to the newly emerging Stratus and Nimbus variants include headaches, body aches, fatigue, fever, and congestion. He noted that while patients frequently report severe throat discomfort, this particular symptom does not mean the illness is inherently more dangerous than previous versions of the virus.
For those who fall ill, doctors advise taking immediate steps to manage the infection. Get tested as soon as possible — current COVID-19 tests are still effective at detecting these variants. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and herbal teas. If you test positive, speak with your healthcare provider about available treatments such as Paxlovid. Seek urgent medical attention if you experience trouble breathing, chest pain, or signs of severe dehydration.
People who fall into higher-risk groups, including seniors, those with chronic conditions, and individuals with weakened immune systems, are strongly encouraged to contact their doctor right away if any symptoms appear.
To reduce the risk of infection during this surge, experts recommend practical precautions: wearing a high-quality mask such as an N95 in crowded indoor environments, washing hands frequently, and steering clear of close contact with individuals who are sick.
Specialists emphasize that actual infection numbers may be higher than what official reports indicate. “I would encourage everyone to treat it as if there is a summer surge,” says Dr. Sarah Whitley Coles, assistant professor at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. “Because we expect that there will be, or that we’re in the beginning of one, and to take necessary precautions.”
While the latest variants don’t appear to cause more severe illness overall, the painful “razor blade throat” has become a signature warning sign — a reminder to get tested quickly and take care of yourself if symptoms develop.

Oh wow. What does our beloved government have in store for us? What new beat down is coming?
I want to remind your esteemed readers about Dr. Zelenko’s (U’H) protocol. (google it.)
I don’t have the time or patience to elaborate on how the conclusive evidence demonstrates the efficacy of combining an ionophore with Zinc to stop covid in its tracks. (the sooner the better.)
(There actually is 1 properly coinducted, peer reviewed study that showed astonishing results, when performed properly.)
Suffice it to say that ignoring it, or placing your trust in the untrustworthy propoganda against it, is at your own peril (for those with compromised immunity) and will prolong the misery of covid unneccessarily (for even the healthiest individuals).
Remember:
All the studies against the protocol have ommitted the vital component of Zinc. (google it.)
And without the cheap and readily available Zinc, the protocol will be (nearly) useless.
p.s.
As an aside, many of the negative studies have also ignored the necessity of beginning the protocol within 1-5 days of symptoms.
Whereas with Paxlovid (which seems to be less effective) they are very “Frum” about taking it within 1-3 days of symptons.
I can’t believe they’re talking about “new covid variants” when the old one was proven a hoax, where every sickness and injury under the sun was then called “covid” in order to propagate fear and bring on their depopulation bioweapon vaxine.
I don’t think the majority of the population can be fooled again.
They proved the IQ of the population is very low as millions of sheeple were fooled with their injections; hence a repeat of their lies coming, for more IQ experimental death shots.
Get your masks and 6′ measuring tapes ready.
I had terrible razor-blade throat 3 years ago on Pesach chol hamoed.
The only thing that helped was painkillers.
Initially, I was positive it was strep throat, but the doctor (whom I visited twice on chol hamoed when I rarely go to doctors) said it was viral and nothing to do but take painkillers, drink a lot, and let it pass. Because of Pesach, I couldn’t take the herbal tinctures or vitamins I usually take. She didn’t even test me for covid.
And guess what?
I survived.
It passed within a week and Acamol and ibuprofen really helped.
Frankly, I think it was the result of stress, of marrying off a son less than two weeks before Pesach and managing the Shabbat Chatan with very little assistance and no advice or experience (I’m a BT).
It happens. And it’s very uncomfortable, but it passes and one forgets about it, more or less.
