A private letter obtained by The NY Post shows that slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk sent Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu a set of recommendations on how to fight back against what he described as growing “anti-Israel sentiment” among young Americans and the wider battle for public opinion.

In his May 2 message, Kirk expressed concern about “anti-Israel and anti-Semitic trends” that he said were hitting “record levels on social media.” He emphasized that “one of my greatest joys as a Christian is advocating for Israel and forming alliances with Jews in the fight to protect Judeo-Christian civilization.”

“My team and I have spent months analyzing these trends and debating ideas that could help you and your country pushback [sic] against these disturbing developments,” Kirk explained in the letter, which is being published in full for the first time. “Anti-Israel sentiment can undermine American support for Israel.”

He went on to stress that his motivation came from solidarity: “The purpose of this letter is to lay out our concerns and outline potential remedies. Everything written here is from a place of deep love for Israel and the Jewish people.” Kirk, who regularly stood up for Israel during his appearances on college campuses while leading Turning Point USA, positioned the letter as both candid and supportive.

“I think it’s important to be brutally honest with those you love. In my opinion, Israel is losing the information war and needs a ‘communications intervention.’”

Netanyahu first publicly referred to the letter on September 18 in a video statement, just over a week after Kirk, 31, was fatally shot at Utah Valley University. In that address, he denounced the “monstrous” claims circulating online that Israel had somehow been tied to the killing.

Speculation spread by Candace Owens and other commentators alleged that Kirk had been pressured to take strong pro-Israel stances publicly despite harboring private doubts about U.S. backing for Israel. However, financier Bill Ackman later released private text exchanges refuting those portrayals.

Within his letter, Kirk pressed Netanyahu’s aides to stop relying too heavily on American allies to make Israel’s case, noting that as TPUSA’s main spokesman on campuses, he frequently found himself “defending Israel in public” more vigorously than Jerusalem itself against questions such as:
• “Israel is an apartheid state.”
• “Why does Israel conduct ethnic cleansing?”
• “Why is America subsidizing Israel’s genocide against the Palestinian people?”
• “Is American aid helping to subsidize Israel’s free health care?”
• “Israel and the Jews are running U.S. foreign policy.”
• “Israel and Jews are responsible for 9/11.”
• “Defending Israel is not in our U.S. national interest.”
• “Why is Israel trying to drag us into a war in the Middle East?”

“I’m accused of being a paid apologist for Israel when I defend her; however, if I don’t defend Israel strongly enough, I’m accused of being anti-semitic,” Kirk acknowledged in the same letter.

“I know you’ve got a 7 front war and my kvetching pales in comparison. But I’m trying to convey to you that Israel is losing support even in conservative circles. This should be a 5 alarm fire.”

Kirk outlined seven specific steps he believed would help reverse the tide, including establishing a dedicated social media response team akin to the one President Trump used in the White House, encouraging subject-matter experts to debunk myths about Gaza in real time, and launching an “Israel Truth Network” to centralize reliable facts.

“When you don’t push back, anti-Semitism and anti-Israel propaganda fill the void,” he warned. “A pro-Israel friend recently asked me, ‘Do Israelis even care how the world perceives their country?’”

He further proposed that recently freed hostages from Gaza be invited to tell their stories in person across the United States, calling such outreach “very effective messaging.”

“Also, these hostages and all your spokespersons should be arguing it’s Hamas that is committing genocide on their own people by using civilians as human shields and storing weapons in schools, hospitals etc,” Kirk insisted. “That information drips out in the regular media but is almost nonexistent on social media.”

In another section, Kirk recommended more human-interest storytelling: posts featuring ordinary Israelis sharing what they love about their homeland. “Interview Jews, Israeli Arabs, Druze, orthodox [sic], secular etc. Ask Israelis what do they wish the world knew about Israel,” he wrote. “Ask them to respond to examples of misinformation on social media. This could be an entire social media PR campaign called, ‘Dude, you got us wrong!’ Interview Israelis from all walks of life.”

He also highlighted the importance of explaining the danger posed by Iran’s nuclear ambitions. He noted that “many conservatives who support Israel” remain uneasy about the U.S. becoming trapped in conflict with Tehran.

Kirk urged Israeli leaders to elevate young voices online, saying the official messaging apparatus felt dated. “I’ve seen your IDF spokesman defend Israel standing at a dimly lit podium,” he remarked. “This looks like a scene out of the 1970’s – like some old Walter Cronkite clips of the TV news. You need to tear down your old ways of communicating and start over from scratch.”

“In my opinion, you are losing the information war which will eventually translate into less political and military support from America,” he concluded. “The Holy Land is so important to my life, and it pains me to see support for Israel slip away.”

Meanwhile, authorities charged Tyler Robinson, 22, with Kirk’s murder. Robinson was taken into custody the day after the shooting and prosecutors have said they will seek the death penalty on an aggravated murder count.

Robinson appeared via video link for a short court session on Monday, where his lawyers asked for a preliminary hearing to weigh whether the case should advance.

The court scheduled the next hearing for October 30.
