avi-zweibackIt is with great pain and sadness that we report the passing of Rabbi Avrohom Yisroel Yehoshua Zweiback z”l, who was niftar on Shabbos afternoon. Reb Avi was 40 years old.

Known for his warm smile and his endearing personality, Reb Avi battled severe illness for the last few years, demonstrating unwavering emunah and bitachon during the trying period. A true ben Torah and oveid Hashem, Reb Avi served as a source of inspiration to those who knew him, who saw the remarkable qualities and middos tovos that he possessed. Reb Avi resided on Fourth Street in Lakewood, NJ. The community has been plunged into sadness by the petirah of Reb Avi, who fought valiantly against the dreaded illness with fortitude and inner strength.

Reb Avi was a supremely devoted father and, together with his aishes chayil, established a beautiful home permeated with the highest ideals of Torah and yiras Shomayim. The pure chinuch of the Zweiback household and the devotion of the Zweiback parents can be seen on their children, each one a special gem who will sorely miss their loving father, who was a friend and brother to all.

Reb Avi was a son of Rav Shlomo Zweiback, R”M at Yeshiva Zichron Meir of Mountandale.

The levaya will be held today, at 11 .m., at Bais Medrash Ohr Meir, located on Fifth Street, between Monmouth Avenue and Princeton Avenue. Kevurah will follow at the bais hakevaros in Deans, NJ.

Reb Avi is survived by his dedicated wife, Mrs. Tzirel Zweiback, and their nine wonderful children.

Umacha Hashem dimah mei’al kol ponim.

Yehi zichro boruch.

  2. reb avi was a close friend of mine for many years, a colleague as well for many years. A true baal yirat shamayim.I wish the wife and family my deepest condolences. He will always be missed. BARUCH DAYAN HAEMET,we should only see SEMACHOT in AM YISRAEL.
    ZION AZOOLAY

  3. I knew the niftar as a small boy growing up in a home in which the question ‘What does Hashem want me to do in this situation?’ guided every aspect of the family’s lives. Yiras shomayim was the foundation of his upbringing. May the mishpacha be comforted by the Source of all comfort and may they know no more sorrow.
