It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Reb Nissan Lesser z”l. He was 98.

Reb Nissan was born into a noted Bobover family in Brigel, Galicia, a son of Reb Shalom and Fraidel Mindel (nee Lipshitz) Lesser.

Reb Nissan experienced numerous nissim during the war, enduring the horrors of the Holocaust, but emerging with his faith and bitachon intact. Despite losing his family in the war, Reb Nissan stayed strong and rebuilt, becoming a great source of inspiration to one and all as a survivor who possessed an unbreakable spirit.

Reb Nissan established himself in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, working in the diamond business, but making avodas Hashem his primary occupation, whether at the Bobover shtiebel in Williamsburg, which he helped found, or other mosdos haTorah v’chesed that he assisted.

The levayah will take place today at the Bobover Bais Medrash, following by kevurah in Deans, New Jersey.
