It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Reb Pinchus Gershon (PG) Waxman z”l of Lakewood.

Reb Pinchus grew up in Monsey, NY and was a talmid of Yeshiva of Staten Island, where he learned under Rav Moshe Feinstein.

Reb Pinchus resided in Lakewood, where he established a successful real estate company, Waxman Realty, but his primary occupation was always limud haTorah. Blessed with a bright mind and the power of chiddush, Reb Pinchus was a veritable treasure trove of original Torah thoughts on numerous topics. Many of Reb Pinchus’ chiddushim were published in his Palgei Mayim pamphlets and in columns that appeared in Yated Ne’eman and other publications.

Reb Pinchus’ ahavas haTorah was extraordinary, and he enjoyed nothing more than learning Torah and sharing a good vort.

In addition, Reb Pinchus was astute and sagacious, and was the address for advice and counsel for many people. He had a caring heart and performed numerous chassodim, quietly and without fanfare.

His passing is a tremendous blow to the Lakewood community and all who were zocheh to know Reb Pinchus.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Zeldy Waxman, and their wonderful family of children and grandchildren.

Yehi zichro boruch.

  1. Terrible news!!!
Reb PG was a person who had a heart of gold.
He always had a good word to say, and despite being oisek in parnassah, he was a ben torah his whole life. He enjoyed nothing more than a good shtikel torah.
    Yehei Zichro Baruch.

  2. He had a tremendous Ahavas Hatorah.
I once gave him a kuntress that I wrote on a few sugyos. A short while later I moved to another city, and we weren’t in touch for a good two years.
Then one day he tracked me down and called to tell me that he just got around to reading my kuntress, and he very much enjoyed it, and gave me a few haaros on what I wrote, and encouraged me to continue writing on those topics.
    It was a tremendous chizzuk.

  3. BD’E. Truly a special person with unique qualities. May his family shlita be comforted amongst shar aveli tzion v’yerushlaim
