It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Reb Yitzchok Stefansky z”l, a beloved pillar of the Boro Park community, who passed away at the age of 88.

Reb Yitzchok was known for his dedication to Torah, tefillah, and chesed, and his passing leaves a profound void in the lives of all who knew him.

Together with his father and brothers, Reb Yitzchok played a key role in founding the Lakewood Minyan of Boro Park, which remains a beacon of Torah and tefillah in the neighborhood. He continued to dedicate himself to Torah and tefillah with unwavering mesirus nefesh until his final days.

In addition to his contributions to the Torah community, Reb Yitzchok was a co-founder of the renowned Dagim fish company, one of the first kosher tuna producers. Under his leadership, the company grew into a significant fish empire, providing kosher fish to frum communities across the world.

Reb Yitzchok established beautiful Torah generations, whose descendants continue to shine in Torah communities around the globe. A tremendous baal chessed and baal tzeddakah, his door was always open to anyone in need, and his acts of kindness and tzedakah were legendary. He was closely connected to many of gedolei Yisroel, who held him in high esteem.

The levayah is taking place now at the Congregation Sons of Israel Holocaust Memorial Chapel, located at 613 Ramsey Avenue in Lakewood, NJ. Following the first levayah, there will be a second levayah at the Lakewood Minyan in Boro Park at 12:15 p.m. The aron will then be flown to Eretz Yisroel for kevurah on Har Hazeisim in Yerushalayim.

Reb Yitzchok is survived by his children, Shmuel and Yehudis Stefansky, Eli and Hadassah Oelbaum, Motty and Naomi Goldstein, Zev and Layla Kaufman, Nosson and Shulamis Schuck, Shua and Chaya Rivky Stefansky, Mordechai and Rivky Gold, Yaakov and Gitty Stefansky, Chaim Yisroel and Freida Leah Stefansky, Bentzy and Mirel Stefansky, Moshe and Adina Stefansky, and Shneur and Chavi Stefansky, along with their families.
