    • Your brainwashed of any historical accuracy! Kollel started after the war in America! And wasnt mainstream until the 80s. (technically their was the first kollels in europe but they were negligible and generally unwelcome.)

  1. This speaker on the video has restored my faith. Thankfully someone knows the truth and is saying it.
I had basically given up on the truth.
More power to the speaker here.

    • Your brainwashed of any historical accuracy! Kollel started after the war in America! And wasnt mainstream until the 80s. (technically their was the first kollels in europe but they were negligible and generally unwelcome.) Maybe a job will help your worldview

  2. 10:08 am

Zevulun is not a baal tzdakah or a chesed guy.
Zevulun supports his partner, Yissachar under all circumstances. So that Yissachaar learns ‘b’mnuchas HaNefesh’.
Yissachar knows the support will be there at all times.
Zevulun will go ‘on welfare’ in order to make sure Yissachaar is supported.
Zevulun does not say ‘oh, I can’t, this week was a bad week’ or ‘the market isn’t doing well these days’ etc.
Its a business deal. A Torah business deal.
How many such Zevuluns are out there?
So Zevulun is a yungerman as well. This Zevulun is ‘horeving in the toisfes’ as well.

  3. Zevulun is mentioned before Yisochor because we absolutely must give Kovod and respect the Tomchei Torah and realize how significant they are and how without them we would be unable to survive. However, even with the awesome chashivus they each have, they are not Lomdei Torah. The world was created for the Torah. Everything is Torah and Torah is everything. There are those who learn and those who support. They are both at the highest madrayga (yes, by unzer there is room at the top for more then one). In the Oilam Hoemes the true Zevulun, the one who was always and totally Leshem Shomayim, will sit on the same front row as the true Yissochor. However, we all know, no matter how great and how high anyone reaches, Talmud Torah is Kneged Kulom.

  4. I wonder who appointed him an authority on the subject let each person get guidance from thier Rabbi matzav are you becoming like the tabloids of lifestyles of the rich and famous

  5. We’re all with Reb Yossel. Someone needed to say it and he said it. Good for him. We expect the haters to come out and make fun and post stupid comments, but someone needed to say and Reb Yossel said it and he’s right. CHEILOCH LEORAISA!

    • Learn som history! Kollel started after the war in America! And wasnt mainstream until the 80s. (technically their was the first kollels in europe but they were negligible and novel.)

  6. Thank you Reb Yossel. You are %100 percent right.
Reb Yossel himself, learnt in kollel for a number of years before going to business.

  7. Can’t we just appreciate that somebody with money is respecting somebody who loves Torah must we read so deeply with such foolish attitude all the time

  8. According to what he said, if I support a guy in learning (which I partially do) I don’t have to do anything else. No chessed needed, no helping orphans, I can talk in shul, etc.

This really makes life easier. I just need to write a check to a kollel yungerman and I’m done for the month with my Judaism.

  9. 1) There are many pre-Voloshin sources.
    2) IF it DID start with Voloshin, or even with Rav Aaron Kotler ztzvk”l, that would be fine. . . They would have decided that for our dor, this is the way it must be. . . Shmuel b’doro. . . Halachah k’basrai. . .
    3) Early sources state that the greatest chesed is that which the lomdei Torah provide. If not, Zevuluns quoted above should be giving their money to all sorts of other programs and reap a cheilek of their olam ha’ba. Torah seems to be different in that it belongs to all (see GRA on the word siyum.
    4) Remember, “ha’aron nosei es nos’av.”

    • Kollel started after the war in America! And wasnt mainstream until the 80s. (technically their was the first kollels in europe but they were negligible and novel.) Don’t compare apples and oranges.

      • I was being sarcastic.

But my point it that Mr. Tabak said that one tosfos is worth more than all chessed, tzedakah, etc. What does he mean by all? Does he mean that learning for an hour is more important than an hour of doing a mitzvah? No one disagrees. What about a day doing a mitzvah? A week of doing chessed? A month? A year ? Where do you draw the line or do you?

  11. If you look at shar daled of the sefer Nefesh Hachaim- where there is a likut of a lot of mamaray chazal on Talmud torah ,you’ll find many sources that what he said is 100% true.

  12. What happened to the dictum of Rav Huna (Avoda Zarah 17):

א”ל רבי חנינא אשריך שנתפסת על חמשה דברים ואתה ניצול אוי לי שנתפסתי על דבר אחד ואיני ניצול שאת עסקת בתורה ובגמילות חסדים ואני לא עסקתי אלא בתורה [בלבד] וכדרב הונא דאמר רב הונא כל העוסק בתורה בלבד דומה כמי שאין לו אלוה שנאמר וימים רבים לישראל ללא אלהי אמת [וגו’]

  13. A nice yid who gets up and says something every person whom went through the yeshiva system knows, and he gets flack from a bunch of non educated people.
yes he deserves lots of credit for saying it
but there is no issue of the validity of what he’s saying
it would be like saying if you are mechalel shabbos even if you give millions to tzedakah you still are chaiav misa!
These are facts that the nice to hear from the givers not the people whom are mezakeh the givers
    thank u R YOSSEL! !
