It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Reb Yossi Fogel z”l of Monsey, NY. Reb Yossi was a noted baal chessed who devoted himself to numerous tzorchei tzibbur and opened his home in the
Forshay community for many worthy causes. His passing has left a void in the hearts of the countless people he helped and touched.
Reb Yossi was a member of the vaad of Lev L’Achim and just hosted his annual Lev L’Achim Forshay reception less than two months ago despite the fact that he barely had the strength to stand. His focus was on “more kinderlach receiving a Torah chinuch in Eretz Yisroel” and he indeed takes with him the zechus of thousands of Yiddishe neshamos brought back to Torah.
May he be a meilitz yosher for his extraordinary wife and children, and his siblings, so that they will have the strength to carry on the legacy of simchas hachaim and ahavas Yisroel that made Reb Yossi so special.
The levaya will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Khal Netzach Yisroel (Rabbi Rottenberg’s shul), located at 47 Forshay Road, at the corner of Orchard Hill Drive, in Monsey, NY. The aron will then proceed to John F. Kennedy Airport and kevurah will take place in Eretz Yisroel.
Yehi zichro boruch.

A true bal chesed, anov, bal tzedaka
Yossi had a big heart and a big smile. always there to help someone in need. will be sorely missed by all.
The levaya was touching and inspiring how a “baal habus” can lead a truly fulfilling life! He was a huge baal tzadakah. He should be a malitz yosher
yossi was a true inspiration to all, he still came last week with the last drop of strenght to shul, he attended all shuirim despite being so ill . he will always be remembered .

number 5 can you please explain to us what you mean with this line? why would a ball habos not be able to lead a TRULY fullfilling life ?
Yossie was a big man with a “huge” heart. The Levaya was a stage for mussar for the rest of us on how to conduct our lives especially during the Yomim Noroim. The hespedim were the description of his exact essence – without any exageration. He was a special human being as are the rest of his Mishpochah
S’gd One of his brother”s Sholom’s closest friends.

If it helps for ID purposes
– He graduated from Mesivta Chaim Berlin High School in 1977
Yossi was a gem. His smile was infectious. He supported the work of RCCS (among many other Tzeddakos), and always with words of Chizuk…together with that smile, even in the midst of tremendous suffering.
I tried to give him Chizuk, but it worked the other way around; he gave ME Chizuk with his unshakable Emunah.
I hope (no, I’m sure) the family will continue the annual parlor meeting in his home for Lev L’Achim, to his Z’chus.
May the family find Nichum and may we all be Zocheh to a K’siva V’Chasima Tova!
Yossi was not only incredibly generous in multiple areas of his life, he was fantastic to be related to because he always infused life into every single family gathering – big or small. He made connections with all the nieces and nephews as well as his candy-man status in shul for the youngsters. He will be sorely sorely missed by his extended family and all of Klal Yisrael.
