Reb Zev Deutsch z”l, Gabbai of Itzkowitz

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Reb Zev Deutsch z”l of Bnei Brak. He was 97.

Reb Zev was born in the city of Erlau in Hungary, a son of Reb Yechiel and Miriam Deutsch.

Reb Zev was one of the first mispallelim and the very first gabbai of the legendary Tiferes Tzvi-Itzkowitz Shul in Bnei Brak, one of the most famous shuls in the world.

Reb Zev was a legendary figure in Bnei Brak and ran the first confectionary under the supervision of Shearis Yisroel, located on Rechov Rabi Akiva at the corner of Rechov Zechariah.

All his life, he pursued chesed and tzedakah, and was a longtime member of the chevrah kadisha.

He leaves behind his wife, his children and his grandchildren.

The levayah took place at his home at 3 Rechov Rashi in Bnei Brak, following by kevurah at the Segulah Bais Hachaim in Petach Tikva.
