candleIt is with great sadness that we report the passing this morning of Rebbetzin Chana Shteinman a”h, daughter of Rav Chaim Kanievsky and daughter-in-law of Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman, following a long illness.

Rebbetzin Shteinman, the wife of Rav Shraga Shteinman, was 61. She passed away at Mayanei Hayeshuah Medical Center in Bnei Brak.

This morning, after learning of the deteriorating state of his daughter, Rav Chaim Kanievsky davened at the Kosel in Yerushalayim. Upon hearing the news of her petirah, Rav Chaim tore kriah at the home of his grandson in Yerushalayim.

Rebbetzin Shteinman was a daughter of Rav Chaim and Rebbetzin Batsheva Kanievsky and a granddaughter of Rav Yosef Shalom and Rebbetzin Shaina Elyashiv.

Her husband, Rav Shraga, is rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Kehillos Yaakov.

All her life, the Rebbetzin served as her husband’s right hand, supporting him in his harbotzas haTorah. She faithfully served her illustrious parents and inspired many women and girls, offering chizuk to one and all.

Rebbetzin Shteinman is survived by her husband and their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her brothers are Rav Avrohom Yeshayahu Kanievsky, Rav Shlomo Kanievsky and Rav Yitzchak Shaul Kanievsky. Her sisters are Rebbetzin Kolodetzky, Rebbetzin Tzivyon, Rebbetzin Braverman, and Rebbetzin Epstein.

The levaya will begin at noon at the Lederman Shul on Rechov Rashbam in Bnei Brak.

    May it happen very soon so no more tzaros happens to klal yisroel
