Rebbetzin Chaya Hilna Schlesinger a”h

It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rebbetzin Chaya Hilna Schlesinger a”h, wife of Rav Moshe Yehuda Schlesinger, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Kol Torah and member of the Moetzes Gedolei Hatorah of Degel Hatorah. She was 86 and passed away at Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital in Yerushalayim.

The Rebbetzin had fallen at her home in Bayit Vegan and lost consciousness. She was taken to the hospital in serious condition and doctors fought for her, but she passed away.

The Rebbetzin was born in Poland, a daughter of Reb Ze’ev and Raizel Lustgarten.

She stood to the right of her husband so that he could learn and teach Torah for decades.

The Rebbetzin served as a guide for kallahs, was very active in guiding couples in shalom bayis, and was a consultant on educational matters.

She suffered the loss of her son Eliezer Schlesinger, who was murdered in 1988 during the first intifada while he was on his way back from Yeshiva Ma’alos HaTorah near Gan Soccer.

The Rebbetzin leaves behind a family of bnei and bnos Torah, including her sons, Rav Shlomo and Rav Yechiel Michel.

The rebbetzin passed away on the day of her granddaughter’s wedding, a daughter of her son-in-law and daughter, Rabbi and Mrs. Isser Yehuda Turchin from Ramat Shlomo.

The levayah was held at Yeshiva Kol Torah in Bayit Vagan, followed by kevurah on Har Hazeisim.
