Ever since announcing her resignation from the governing coalition led by Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, MK Idit Silman has been received with great respect at the homes of chareidi and religious rabbonim and leaders.
Last week, Silman met with Rav Shmuel Eliyahu and Rav Yehoshua Shapira, Religious Zionist leaders, and on Tuesday she visited Bnei Brak, where she met with Rebbetzin Leah Koledetsky, daughter of Maran Rav Chaim Kanievsky.
Silman, who arrived with a number of associates as well as with journalist Yisroel Cohen, was received by the rebbetzin warmly.
“You have a huge zechus for when you stood up and did something for the hatzolah of Yahadus and Am Yisroel, and for that you will receive great s’char in Heaven,” Rebbetzin Koledetzky told Silman.
The rebbetzin added that “my father, Rav Kanievsky, had been in great pain of late over all the desecration of Shabbos and the violation of religion and Jewish tradition that this government is doing, and he davened that there would be a change for the better soon.”
“Righteous women are sometimes zocheh to what many others are not – and you have been zocheh,” the rebbetzin added.
Rebbetzin Koldetzky wrote a personal note to Silman:
יש קונה עולמו בשעה אחת, בזכות נשים צדקניות נגאלו אבותינו ממצרים ובזכות נשים צדקניות יגאלו במהרה. זכית!!! אשרייך!!!
Silman was also given a special photo of Rebbetzin Koledetsky together with her father, Maran Rav Chaim.
