It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rebbetzin Liba Sturman a”h.

Rebbetzin Sturman was the wife of Rav Shimon Sturman, longtime R”M at Yeshiva of Philadelphia.

Rebbetzin Sturman was a popular mechaneches at Kosloff Torah Academy for Girls in Bala Cynwyd, PA.

She recently relocated from Philadelphia to Lakewood.

The levaya is being held at the Congregations Sons of Israel Holocaust Memorial Chapel off of Ramsey Street in Lakewood, NJ. Kevurah will follow in Staten Island.

Rebbetzin Sturman’s children include her sons, R’ Moshe, R’ Yaakov, R’ Sender, R’ Chaim R’ Shneur and R’ Yossi, and her daughters, Mrs. Reidel, Mrs. Zucker, Mrs. Adlin, Mrs. Weissman, and Mrs. Sender. She was predeceased by her son, R’ Aharon Sturman z”l, who passed away about seven years ago.

  1. Rebbetzin Sturman was a tzadekes and a baalas chesed. Her shmiras halashon was exemplary. She left behind a wonderful family of sons and daughters, bnai and bnos Torah. Yehi Zichro Boruch

  2. “popular mechaneches” is like saying that the Rambam was a “good writer”!
    Mrs. Sturman ZL was an OUTSTANDING teacher and role model. Every Morah and Rebbe should daven that after 120 they are remembered with the same love and affection as Mrs.Sturman’s talmidos have for her. She pushed girls to learn, and she led them to love Torah.
    She will be missed.
