It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rebbetzin Pesya Yenta Weiss a”h. She was 61.

Rebbetzin Weiss was the wife of Rav Usher Weiss, av bais din of Bais Din Darchei Horaah and head of Mosdos Minchas Asher at Darkei HaTorah.

Rebbetzin Weiss, who lived in Yerushalayim, had been in the United States with her husband and her only son, Rav Yosef Binyomin Weiss, to receive medical treatment.

Rebbetzin Weiss was a daughter of Rav Yisroel Aryeh Zelmanowitz, rov of Akko, and Rebbetzin Leah Zelmanowitz.

Rebbetzin Weiss was an ishah chashuvah and a devoted ezer kenegdo to her husband, a well-known gaon, dayan, and marbitz Torah, and she devoted her life to allowing her husband to inspire, teach and guide his thousands of followers.

The Rebbetzin is survived by her husband, Rav Usher; her son, Rav Yosef Binyomin Weiss, rov of Bais Medrash Chayei Nefesh; and five daughters. She also leaves behind her brothers, Rav Eizik Meir Zelmanowitz, Rav Eliyahu Zelmanowitz, Rav Shmuel Nota Zelmanowitz and Rav Avrohom Zelmanowitz.

The levaya will take place today at 1 p.m. at Torah Academy High School For Girls, located at 636 Lanett Avenue in Far Rockaway, NY. The aron will then be flown to Eretz Yisroel this evening on El-Al flight LY002. The levayah in Eretz Yisroel will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at the Weiss home, located at 8 Rechov Kagan in Ramot Gimmel, Yerushalayim. Kevurah will follow on Har Hamenuchos.
