It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the passing of Rebbetzin Ruth Schonfeld a”h of Queens, NY.

Rebbetzin Schonfeld was the wife of Rabbi Fabian Schonfeld, rabbi emeritus of Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills, Queens, and mother of Rabbi Yoel Schonfeld, rov of Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills, Queens.

Rebbetzin Schonfeld, an outstanding isha chashuvah and baalas chesed, was one of the pillars and molders of the Kew Gardens Hills community.

The levayah was held today at Young Israel of Kew Gardens Hills, Queens.

Shivah is being observed at Rabbi Fabian’s home, located at 70-41 153 Street, through Sunday morning, January 15. Shacharis is at 8 a.m. and Mincha/Maariv are at 4:35 p.m.
