It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rebbetzin Zahava Golda Chevroni a”h, widow of the late nosi of Yeshivas Chevron, Rav Yitzchak Zev Chevroni, and mother of the current rosh yeshiva, Rav Yosef Chevroni. She was 93 years old.
Rebbetzin Chevroni was born on 29 Tishrei 5692 (1931) to her father, Rav Yosef Weinberg, and her mother, Mrs. Penina Weinberg.
She married her husband, Rav Yitzchak Zev Chevroni, who served as nosi of Yeshivas Chevron. He was the son of the rosh yeshiva, Rav Moshe Chevroni, author of Masas Moshe. Following his father’s passing, Rav Yitzchak Zev assumed leadership of the yeshiva and guided it with dedication until his own passing in Cheshvan 2009.
Throughout the decades, Rebbetzin Chevroni stood faithfully at her husband’s side, carrying the weight of the yeshiva’s responsibilities with quiet strength and unwavering devotion. Her home was a source of warmth, chesed, and support for countless talmidim and families connected to the Chevron community.
She is survived by a distinguished family, including her son, Rav Yosef Chevroni, rosh yeshiva of Chevron; her son-in-law, Rav Aryeh Zolty, son of Rav Betzalel Zolty who serves as rosh kollel in Givat Mordechai; along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The levayah took place today beginning from the courtyard of Yeshivas Chevron in Givat Mordechai, Yerushalayim, proceeding to Har HaZeisim for kevurah.
Yehi zichro boruch.
