Adam Bohler, who was assigned by President Donald Trump as an envoy for hostage negotiations, has reportedly been removed from overseeing efforts related to the hostages in Gaza, according to The Jewish Insider.
Sources within the Republican Party have indicated that there is growing pressure to strip him of his role entirely in all hostage-related matters, not just the ongoing situation in Gaza.
Bohler sparked controversy following an interview with CNN, where he openly discussed the direct communication between the United States and Hamas. During the interview, he stated, “We are not agents of Israel, we have our own interests,” and described members of Hamas as “pretty nice guys.”
In response to the backlash, he later took to Twitter to clarify his remarks, writing: “I want to be CRYSTAL CLEAR as some have misinterpreted. Hamas is a terrorist organization that has murdered thousands of innocent people. They are BY DEFINITION BAD people. And as the President has said, not a single Hamas member will be safe if Hamas doesn’t RELEASE ALL HOSTAGES IMMEDIATELY.”
