Report: Biden Still Angry With Pelosi, Obama

President Joe Biden continues to harbor deep resentment over his removal from the Democratic Party’s presidential ticket, according to a report by Politico.

Biden’s frustration is particularly directed at former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who played a central role in the decision to replace him as the party’s candidate to face off against former President Donald Trump.

Adding to his frustration is the fact that former President Barack Obama did not personally inform him about the move to end his reelection campaign. Biden is also reportedly “miffed” with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., Politico revealed on Wednesday.

On July 21, Biden made the announcement that he was withdrawing from the race for a second term in the White House.

Pelosi’s determination to orchestrate Biden’s exit was solidified after his disastrous debate against Trump on June 27, where she became convinced that Biden was no longer a viable candidate. She took it upon herself to “orchestrate an unprecedented mutiny against not only a sitting president of her own party, but also someone who had been a friend for decades,” Politico reported.

Biden now sees Pelosi as “ruthless,” a person who is willing to sacrifice long-standing relationships to maintain her party’s hold on power and prevent another Trump presidency, a senior White House official told the outlet.

“That’s who she has always been,” the official remarked.

Even though Biden has expressed to his inner circle that he is slowly coming to terms with his decision to end his campaign, he still feels bitter about how he was removed from the ticket.

Nonetheless, he has acknowledged a reluctant admiration for Pelosi’s tactics.

“She did what she had to do” to ensure the Democrats have the strongest chance in the upcoming November election, Biden reportedly told someone, adding that Pelosi “cares about the party,” not about individuals’ emotions.

Since Biden’s announcement that he was stepping out of the race, he and Pelosi have not had any communication.

Biden is also hurt that Obama, who was both a friend and former boss, did not reach out to him directly to discuss his concerns following the debate.

Although Obama did not “try to stir up a movement to dislodge Biden from the top of the ticket, he also didn’t quell one, much to the dismay of some of those closest to Biden,” sources shared with Politico.

Regarding Schumer, Biden had a conversation with the Senate Majority Leader on the day he dropped out. Although his anger towards Schumer is less intense compared to his feelings towards Pelosi and Obama, Biden was still irritated that Schumer participated in the effort to pressure him out of the race.
