According to a CBS report, Dallas shooter Micah Johnson was wearing body armor and carrying an SKS semi-automatic rifle when he killed five officers and injured seven others on Thursday night.
A witness who recorded and described the point-blank shooting of one officer said the suspect he saw was wearing gear and body armor. He ran up behind the police officer, who was hiding behind a pillar. Then he shot him at point blank range, Jason Young told NBC 5.
“I’m still in shock. I mean, I’ve never seen anything like that before in my life. Never would have expected that,” Young told a reporter. “We all just hit the ground, just laid on the ground for a few minutes.” Read more at CBS News.
