On Friday morning, the Lebanese news outlet Al Akhbar, which is linked to the Hezbollah terrorist organization, reported that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi had recently declared at Arab summits that Egypt would be open to temporarily hosting half a million Gazans in a designated city in northern Sinai.

The report, which has not yet been confirmed by official sources, suggests that this would require Egypt to open its borders to Gazans who are willing to leave the Gaza Strip.

According to the report, the potential agreement has sparked concerns in Jordan, which has already expressed its willingness to assist Gazan refugees, but only for families of the injured and for a limited period.

Three weeks ago, during the Arab summit in Belgium, details emerged about an Egyptian plan to rebuild Gaza, which would necessitate an investment of $53 billion.

The plan includes the creation of seven areas to provide temporary housing for 1.5 million Gazans. The report also mentioned that the United Nations Security Council would consider deploying international peacekeepers to Gaza.

As part of the plan, a committee will be formed to manage Gaza for a six-month period until the Palestinian Authority can return. The committee will be made up of “independent figures” and will operate under the authority of the Palestinian Authority.

  1. Now Qatar, who love Hamas so dearly can also open their gates and take half a million Gazans, and maybe Saudi Arabia in its goodness and high moral ground will open their hearts to their Arab brothers, despite detesting them intensely. That leaves some Gazans to go to Somalia or some other country smart enough to accept the incentive Trump is offering and maybe even doing a good deed and getting some new blood into their land.

  2. Israel says they like the plan but to me this is a little worrisome. If Hamas Resurfaces inside Gaza they need to deal with bad PR if the resurface in Egypt then dealing with them would be in another sovereign country which might not be all too pleased with Israel raining down bombs on their country.
