Reports from Arabic language news stations Al Arabiya and Al Hadath are claiming that the IDF eliminated Hezbollah’s #2, Fuad Shukr, also known as Hajj Mohsin. Shukr had a $5 million bounty on his head from the US Government due to his role in the 1983 US army barracks bombing which killed 241 American servicemen.

Earlier today the IDF confirmed it used a UAV to target the commander responsible for the rocket attack over Shabbos which murdered 12 Israeli children. There were conflicting reports regarding the status of the Hezbollah commander.

Per Sky News Arabic, the strike took place in a Hezbollah stronghold in the southern Beirut suburb of Dahiyeh.

According to the Lebanese Health Ministry as quoted by the NY Times, one person was killed and 35 were injured in the strike, three of whom were seriously injured.

Following the strike, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit stated,”The IDF carried out a targeted strike in Beirut, on the commander responsible for the murder of the children in Majdal Shams and the killing of numerous additional Israeli civilians. At the moment, there are no changes in the Home Front Command defensive guidelines. If any changes will be made, an update will be released.”

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said that “Hezbollah crossed the red line.”

Earlier in the day, a 28 year old Israeli citizen named Nir Poupko, from Kibbutz HaGoshrim, was murdered in another Hezbollah rocket attack.
