Report: Sources Examine Possibility Of Pardoning Netanyahu If He Steps Down

According to sources within the Israeli political system, some politicians are trying to find out if there’s a chance Netanyahu would be willing to resign from office and quit his public career in return for dropping charges against him in three indictments cases.

The said figures have reportedly examined the efficacy of the proposal with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin — who can pardon according to Israeli law — and with Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit.

The inquiry revealed that the offer could be agreed on principle, on condition that Israel’s longest-serving prime minister would confess to some of the charges against him and agree to stay out of politics.

  1. The witch-hunt in Israel is no better than of the US. Go find ONE politician OR judge in Israel who is not guilty of bribery. Before having him step down they should investigate Lapid, Gantz and others who want to replace him. Not only would they find them guilty of the same but of worse – they’re after all leftists whose crimes are generally much worse.
