The U.S. is reportedly considering dropping off of the United Nations Human Rights Council over alleged anti-Israel bias. A former State Department official told Politico that the administration is also questioning the council’s “usefulness overall,” due to the fact that some countries with subpar human rights records are allowed on the

council. Politico reports that a final decision on whether to pull out of the body would involve President Trump, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley. When asked about the possibility of dropping off, State Department spokesman Mark Toner only said the U.S. delegation “will be fully involved in the work of the HRC session which starts Monday.” Read more at POLITICO.

  1. Instead of dropping out just drop the money that is given to the UN. The UN is turning into a inclusive party of same thoughts participants and they are all anti US and Israel. Maybe the UN can moved to a place less desirable and really see how the other half lives, especially in their own countries where the citizens are not doing well and the representatives are living in the lap of luxury and are always complaining how their countries are doing how would they know they live In New York City. Let them all go home and connect by computer biannually and have meetings that way, for most of the world is connected and they can live like the citizens of their country are living, maybe then they can learn how the world works.

  2. It would really be smart to stop underwriting this useless organization. Does anyone know how much it costs NYC to have them here? The parking tickets alone are a huge amount of money because of their “diplomatic immunity.”
I agree that in today’s world connecting by internet would be much more cost effective.

    • this is the Human Rights Council the US doesn’t have a veto just 1 vote out of 47 mostly
the Security Council is where the US has a veto
