Palestinian flags were prominently displayed by activists at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) this week, amid an apparent lack of American flags, according to numerous media and social media postings.

Eye-witness accounts and press coverage of the first day of the DNC pointed out the limited presence of Old Glory.

According to Daily Caller reporter Alex Pfeiffer, “It doesn’t look like there are any American flags. The stage is bland and grey, with no red, white or blue present. A thorough look at the crowd present also turns up no American flags.”

In addition, activists were seen holding up signs reading, “I support Palestinian human rights.”

Twitter users credited activist Ali Akin Kurnaz for initially raising the Palestinian flag at the Democratic Party confab. Kurnaz issued several tweets of his own during the first day of the event, criticizing the Democrats for what he claimed to be a pro-Israel stance.

DNC platform does not recognize occupation of Palestinian people. Even George W. Bush and Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledge this. #DNCinPHL

Nothing disrespectful about holding the flag of an oppressed people. Not acknowledging their oppression—that’s disrespectful🇵🇸 #DemsInPhilly

Conservative bloggers, meanwhile, highlighted additional flag issues during the DNC, such as the party’s capitulation to protesters demanding the removal of the Mississippi state flag, which depicts the Confederate standard. In a video capturing its removal, demonstrators are heard chanting and cheering.

Chris Pandolfo, writing in the Conservative Review, said that as “Democrats in Philadelphia participated in a ‘sit-in’ under the Mississippi state flag…Inside the convention delegates shamelessly waved the Palestinian flag without thinking twice. Oh, the stench of hypocrisy.”

Jim Hoft, of the popular Gateway Pundit blog, criticized a DNC march where “Soviet Union flags were proudly displayed.”

The presence of the Palestinian flag at the DNC comes at a fragile time for pro-Israel Democrats, following major efforts — led by Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, who competed against and lost to Hillary Clinton in the Democratic presidential primary — to take a “toughened” stance on Israel.

  1. Don’t forget that Bernie was the guy who wanted to promote Palestinian “rights” over the rights of Jewish faith in Israel.

Still, who thinks this is anything other than a lucky look at what the criminal wants. He wants to take over the rights of man. Thus the palestinian supporters go where they know that they will get a big pace by their own crimes.

Still, one wonders what Hillary will be doing with Israel and the palestinian “peace” initiative. Likely not much more than what we have seen with the past in the Democrats. Jewish interests are always discussed.

  2. Amazing!
    I love matzav.
The picture you posted to go with your article shows 0 Palestinian flags and 1 American flags
    (Oh btw 1 > 0)
You guys are too funny. You make the national enquirer look like sophisticated journalism. No wonder you like Trump
    Keep up the hilarious “work”

    • A picture of a small American flag at the bottom of a placard isn’t a flag. And if you go to the Breitbart article about this subject (linked to in a Matzav article yesterday), you will see a photo of a conventioneer proudly and prominently holding up a large Palestinian flag on the convention floor. The Breitbart piece also has a brief interview with the Pali flag-waver.

Yes, Matzav is very biased toward Trump. They are far from alone in their bias – the NY Daily News is blatantly campaigning against Trump and for Clinton, while the NY Post is slamming Clinton and boosting Trump. They claim to be “professional” news organizations while this site is more of an individual or two presenting the news thru the filter of his/their opinion. Also, this site’s editor frequently allows dissenting posts, such as yours.

      • I’m not dissenting!
lehefech! I love MAtzav. I check it daily it is a great parody of a news site.
As I said keep up the good work.
I check your blog multiple times daily

chachom who cares whose headline it is? I find this story hilarious

  3. The emes is that there were Palestinian flags displayed. Go to the Algemeiner article and you will see a huge one and no American flags.

    Draw your own conclusions.

  4. “emes”
you do realize this article is a repost of an article from algemiener, including the picture
if you had clicked on the link you would see the flags being referenced by the article
Do you really think the algemiener supports “Trump”??!!
What does it say about Hillary supporters that they jump to inaccurate conclusions without doing the slight amount of effort it would have taken to come to the emes?

  5. Any Jew with a half brain realizes the Democratic Party is extreme left wing, atheistic and anti Israel. Trump is the best candidate for israel even better than Reagan or Nixon or bush. His daughter is a Jew and his two top lawyers are frum Jews. I and my family switched this year from democratic to republican. Look who hangs around Hillary. The worst Jew haters from al Sharpthon to zogby. Enough said. Trump all the way.
