i24 News – Ukraine is considering nixing the visa waiver for Israelis in response to restrictions on Ukrainian refugees imposed by Israel in the wake of Russia’s invasion, the country’s envoy to Tel Aviv said.

Ambassador Yevgen Korniychuk told Haaretz that Ukrainian officials are discussing with Israeli foreign and interior ministries, and that if talks are unsuccessful, Kyiv would “consider reciprocity” prior to the Yomim Noraim.

Every Rosh Hashanah, thousands of Israelis travel to the central Ukrainian city of Uman, the site of the kever of Rav Nachman of Breslov. Whether or not Israelis would actually consider visiting the country still under a Russian invasion remains to be seen.

Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Israel deported thousands of Ukrainians – of more than 21,000 refugees not covered by the Law of Return, only 14,500 were still in Israel by June. The rest are believed to be in Europe or back in Ukraine, and those still in Israel are not deemed as refugees.

  1. Zelensky, married to a shiktza, always hated Yidden with a passion. He can not be trusted for anything. He is a backstabber of the worst kind. At least Putin is a proven ohaiv Yisroel.

    • Yes, Zelensky is proudly married to a shikse. Yes, he had his non-Jewish children publicly baptized as per his wife’s wishes. No, he had no connection to the Jewish community throughout the years.
Still, whatever makes you say that he has always hated Yidden with a passion? He was totally indifferent to Judaism, and considers himself a Ukrainian of Jewish extraction. That doesn’t translate as hatred. He simply never cared.

  2. I’m so shocked that Ukrainians would want to take revenge like this. These people have a track record of doing nothing but acts of kindness – especially during the Holocaust.
