Iranian President Hassan Rouhani declared that President Donald Trump will be dead ”in a few days” during a speech to his Islamic nation’s cabinet as the first anniversary of the killing of a general in the country’s military approached.

Rouhani’s Wednesday speech, excerpts of which were posted in English on the Iranian presidential website, called Qasem Soleimani a ”martyr” and ”moderate leader with tact.”

Soleimani, the leader of Iran’s Quds Force — described by military specialists as an unconventional war and clandestine operations unit — was killed in a targeted drone strike on Jan. 3, 2020, that was approved by Trump.

  1. I remember when Obama tried to defend his nuclear deal with Iranian President Rouhani by saying: “Just because Iranian hardliners chant ‘death to America’ does not mean that that’s what all Iranians believe.” Obama went on to say that, “In fact, it’s those hardliners who are most comfortable with the status quo. It’s those hardliners chanting ‘death to America’ who have been most opposed to the deal. They are making a common cause with the Republican caucus.”
This despite the fact that Rouhani was once quoted in a speech as saying, “The beautiful cry of ‘Death to America’ unites our nation.” He was also quoted in a different speech as saying, “Saying ‘Death to America’ is easy. We need to express ‘Death to America’ with action! Saying it is easy.” So, I suppose Rouhani and Obama share the same mindset. Rouhani claims Qasem Soleimani is not a hardliner, but rather a “moderate”, and Obama claims the same thing about Rouhani. Great minds think alike.

    • Thesame,

Of course all the Iranian leaders are rashaim. But they are no worse than the leaders of Saudi Arabia, with whom we do a lot of business. More importantly, the Iran Deal ended Iran’s nuclear weapons program; Trump brought it back.

  2. Hey John Kerry, didn’t you say:
“There will be no separate peace between Israel and the Arab world. I want to make that very clear to all of you.”
