The Russian Defense Ministry thanked Israel on Thursday for destroying Islamic State (IS) positions and killing terrorists after two rockets were fired into Israel from Syria’s embattled south Wednesday evening.
An Israeli aircraft struck targets in the southern city of Quneitra in response to two rockets launched by IS in Syria that landed in the Kinneret.
“Russian armed forces’ command in Syria used existing communication channels to thank the IDF leadership for killing terrorists and stopping a massive provocation,” the ministry said in a statement. “A precision strike by jets and IDF artillery operatively destroyed Daesh terrorist and their rocket launchers,” the ministry stated.
