Russian-Israeli Man Beaten To Death In Suspected Anti-Semitic Attack

A Russian-born Israeli man died on Monday night several days after being severely beaten on a St. Petersburg street, in what authorities are investigating as an anti-Semitic attack.

The Russian-language outlet Fontanka reported Tuesday that 27-year-old Mikhail Verevskoy died in hospital, where he was admitted with traumatic brain injuries and fractured ribs and facial bones, as well as internal injuries, following the attack last week.

The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs said that Verevskoy’s suspected attacker, 39-year-old Ahmed Kharsha, was arrested following the incident but released after posting bail.
