Parallel to Israel’s welcome of Ukrainian refugees, 5,600 Russians came to Israel over the past two months in a special operation dubbed “Returning Home,” due to fears that their country may be planning to snap shut an iron curtain and curtail further emigration.

The Immigration and Absorption Ministry soon discovered that a third of the Russian newcomers left after a month after receiving special benefits that included a free flight to Israel, a cash infusion at the airport, and a free month in a hotel with special banking, social, and health privileges.

In response to the “serious problem,” the ministry has immediately curtailed the hotel vacations.

  1. Israel should kick out both the Russian and Ukrainian fake immagrants. Stop collecting money for them and giving them free stuff.

  2. Israelis are the Best! The Smartest! The Bravest!……….That’s the way those dumb dibs think of themselves.

  3. Maybe they wanted to stay here originally but when they saw how Israelis behave, they preferred to return to Russia.

  4. People everywhere, in all of life’s circumstances, will always take advantage of the system, period.
In this case, however, having Russian passports, they weren’t welcome to other countries, at this time. Their sole route of escaping Russia was via Israel, and their new documents.
I am not justifying this behavior; I am considering all the facts. Another thought – most fully Jewish families have left Russia long ago. A high percentage of those coming out now are mixed marriages, or, even worse, non-halachic descendants of Jews. Do we really want those to remain in Israel? For what?
