Sen. Bernie Sanders said Tuesday he will not release any more medical records during his presidential bid, arguing he’s already released sufficient information to quell concerns about his health.
Sanders, the current front-runner for the Democratic nomination, has faced questions about his health since he suffered a heart attack in October. He insisted at a CNN town hall Tuesday night that the release of three letters from his doctors at the end of December declaring him healthy were sufficient disclosures.
“We have released, I think … quite as much as any other candidate has. We released two rather detailed letters from cardiologists and we released a letter that came from the head of the U.S. Congress medical group, the physicians there. So I think we have released a detailed report, and I’m comfortable with what we have done,” he said.

His coroner said that it would be a violation of privacy, but that his patient used to be in great health, at some point.
I’m no Bernie supporter but he is right.

Anyone voting for him knows he is a senior citizen with a heart condition and probably has other health conditions too. Just watching onstage should be enough to assume he has high blood pressure.

I despise Bernie, but I still try to be fair on each issue separately. While he has no legal obligation whatsoever to share his health records, if I were to consider voting for him (hah!) I’d still want to know whether we could reasonably expect that he’d be up to the rough-and-tumble grueling schedule and stress that comes along with the job. If I thought an candidate was great position-wise, but couldn’t handle the four years of serving, I’d be more inclined to vote for my second choice who’d be more likely to complete his (or her) term.
When asked to release his medical records, Sanders emphatically stated “Over my dead body”!
