Secret Service: We Don’t Have Any Comey Tapes

The Secret Service does not have any recordings of conversations between President Trump and former FBI director James Comey, the agency told the Wall Street Journal in response to a FOIA request. The Secret Service, however, did not discount the possibility that “another entity” may have made recordings, the Journal reported.

Trump initially implied that he may have taped his conversations with Comey, tweeting in May that “Comey better hope that there are no ‘tapes’ of our conversations before he starts leaking to the press.” During his testimony before Congress last week, Comey joked, “Lordy, I hope there are tapes” of his conversations with the president. And when asked about the possibility of tapes during a press conference on Friday, Trump told reporters, “I’ll tell you about that maybe sometime in the very near future… Oh, you’re going to be very disappointed when you hear the answer, don’t worry.” Read more at the WALL STREET JOURNAL.
