NJ State Senate President Stephen Sweeney says he’ll “never” allow self-serve gas legislation move forward on his watch, NJ.com reports.
“I’ve never been a supporter of self-serve,” Sweeney said during an Asbury Park Press editorial board meeting Tuesday. “The retailers are controlling the numbers. All you’re doing is increasing their profit. You won’t see the savings because it just disappears.” Read more at NJ.com.

if i wanted the exercise of getting out of the car and pumping my own gas, i would have walked and not driven in the 1st place
More than once when I’ve driven in NJ, the gas station guy filling it up did so only partially.
“You won’t see savings”. Makes a lot of sense. So please explain why self serve is always cheaper than full serve.
This Sweeny guy has been in office for way to long.
