The Senate Finance Committee voted Tuesday to advance Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s nomination to lead the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) following two heated hearings last week.

Kennedy, age 71, will likely face a full Senate vote next week after the committee approved his nomination by a narrow 14-13 margin, with members voting strictly along party lines. This result matched a whip count previously reported by The NY Post.

During last week’s four-hour-long hearing, Kennedy encountered intense scrutiny from Democrats, who challenged him over his past controversial statements regarding the safety and effectiveness of vaccines.

Kennedy, a veteran environmental attorney, stumbled a few times while attempting to differentiate between major government programs like Medicare and Medicaid. Despite those slip-ups, he largely focused on his core message that President Trump, now 78, had chosen him to “Make America Healthy Again” by tackling the epidemic of chronic illnesses and overhauling the nation’s food system.

Kennedy was also forced to address some of his more provocative past assertions, including claims that the virus behind COVID-19 was “ethnically targeted” to affect black and Caucasian populations, that Lyme disease was a military-created bioweapon, and that he would not “take sides on 9/11.”

Although Kennedy underwent examination by both the Senate Finance Committee and the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, only the Finance Committee holds the authority to cast a formal vote on his nomination.

      • Anyone opposing vaccines, dangerous drugs, fake science and will expose Big Pharma is a left wing lunatic, environmental wacko? How’s that? Did you pick up your hogwash from WaPo or AP?

        • Do you even know anything about this guy? Before he became Trump’s latest best friend? Come on, think for yourself, do your own research. He is a left wing wacko environmentalist. Until last year, he was the darling of the radical left.

  1. Believe it or not! Bill Gates (the one who’s out to depopulate the world via vaccines) warns that RFK is a danger to humanity and is misleading the public.
