rubashkin-signs-smallSome people in Postville are doing what they can to get Reb Shalom Mordechai Rubashkin released from jail. Supporters of Reb Shalom Mordechai put out yard signs, upset that Judge Reade has ordered him to stay in jail.

“I believe the reason people put out signs on the lawn is because a lot of people in Postville care about Shalom Rubashkin and want to show him and his family support and would really like to see him out on bail,” said Rashi Raices.

The signs say “Send Shalom Home” with a photo of Reb Shalom Mordechai and an American flag as the background.

Reb Shalom Mordechai supporter Raices said she knows him as a generous man.

Raices feels Reb Shalom Mordechai deserves to be home in Postville, and the signs show others feel the same way.

“We want him to know we haven’t forgotten about him, that we cry all the time for him, that we want to see him out and we feel he deserves to be out,” said Raices.

Mrs. Raices said many people put up a lot to get Reb Shalom Mordechai out on bail and do not feel he is a flight risk at all.
