An optimistic tone was conveyed by a high-ranking diplomatic Israeli official regarding the potential for a forthcoming agreement to secure the release of the hostages held by Hamas.

“If Hamas is inclined towards a deal, progress is within reach. Our recent strides indicate promising prospects in the days ahead,” affirmed the source.

According to Kan News, senior Israeli officials engaged in negotiations for the hostages’ release noted that “the Israeli delegation in Cairo has presented the mediators with a more contemporary and adaptable stance concerning the repatriation of residents to the northern Gaza Strip.”

During the War Cabinet meeting yesterday, ministers deliberated Israel’s willingness to be flexible in negotiations and contemplated a potential compromise concerning the return of residents to northern Gaza and Israel’s presence in the Strip’s corridor.

Hamas persists in its stance that the hostages’ release will occur gradually over the span of six weeks during the prospective ceasefire. Consequently, if an agreement is reached, some hostages slated for release may remain in Hamas captivity throughout Pesach.
