Yerushalayim’s Shaarei Tzedek Medical Center became the first hospital to use a newly developed EmbraceNeonatal MRI System pioneered by Aspect Imaging of Modi’in, which is designed specifically for imaging preemies’ heads.
The system includes a temperature-controlled incubator placed directly into the MRI system to minimize moving the baby from place to place.The system was developed toavoid representing a radiation hazard.
Until now, preemie facilities have needed to rely on ultra-sounds or expose preemies to the cold and germs of regular MRI departments.
