People who arrived this morning at the bais hachaim in Bnei Brak discovered, to their utter shock, that the kever of the Rosh Yeshiva Maran Hagaon Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman was desecrated and vandalized in a most disgusting way, as black tar was poured on the tombstone.
The municipality was contacted and informed of the horrific desecration of the kever on the eve of the fourth yahrtzeit of Rav Shteinman on the first day of Chanukah
The vandals also placed pashkevilen – papers – at the kever containing words of bizayon written about Rav Shteinman.
R’ Gedaliah Silman, chief of staff of the office of Bnei Brak Mayor Avraham Rubinstein, quickly arrived on the scene on behalf of the mayor to take care of cleaning the kever, while filing a complaint with the police.
This is not the first time that Rav Shteinman’s kever has been desecrated.
Mayor Rubinstein said in a statement, “We were horrified to discover the heinous act done in desecrating the kever of the Rashkebehag Maran Baal Ha’Ayeles Hashachar, a criminal act committed by heartless vandals. City staff are working to remove the shocking disgrace. At the same time, I will hold talks with the police in order to make sure that they do everything possible to find the vandals as soon as possible and prosecute them.”
Mayor Rubinstein ordered the security company that works with the municipality to install cameras in the area of the kever before Shabbos.

They act like Arabs, but unfortunately they are probably confused and troubled souls thinking they are doing a mitzva by doing such a thing.
Would Matzav consider not posting things that only support the depraved individuals who committed this horrible act? Not reporting it would deny the perpetrators a platform and minimize the bizayon H’torah.
