A heartbreaking and eye-opening look at what transpired to people in prison during the early days of the pandemic and how Tzedek saved lives by securing their release. Thanks to a life-saving provision in the CARES Act, countless families were joyfully reunited. Many more are home thanks to the Elderly Home Detention Pilot Program.
But all this might be coming to an end – very soon.
The Elderly Program expires this year and some out on the CARES Act may still need to return to prison, leading to a complete reversal of many bitterly-fought-for justice reforms.

What were all those big zadiks doing there in the first place?
Shaigetz, do you know how many people were released because of errors?
Do you not think that some sentencing are overly done?
Use your brain if you have any, don’t sit for too long you might squeeze whatever is left of your brain
How many people do you know were falsely accused AND convicted?
And how are you determining what is a fair sentencing for a given crime?
If someone illegally makes 20 million, should he sit for 30 days? 2 years? 10 years? Or more? What about if he swindled your son out of all his savings?
Most americans know that prison reform was one of the most important topics. It is well known that crime and punishment dont fit.
pretty sure most Americans weren’t talking about white collar crime which would be diffrent. if a person in a suit wipes out somebody’s assets should they only sit a short stint in prison?
apparently you have such confidence in the justice system. I have no idea who you are, but if your human, there are probably things that you can b put in jail for if someone with that power felt they wanted to.
How about giving them the merit of the doubt and thinking they were political prisoners like one among a crowd of protesters against the dangerous vaxine or covid hoax or someone who didn’t pay their fine for not wanting to kill themselves with a mask or even for something not political? Where’s your ahavas yisroel? You need to read some stories of R’ Moshe Leib Sassover zt”l or R’ Arye Levin zt”l who didn’t check the prisoner’s tzitzis to get him out of prison and other stories of tzaddikim.
They are worried about solitary confinement.
They can sit and do hisboidedus that way, and shteig away.
A great situation to work on doing teshuvah.

Kol Hakavod to you! May there be many more with a Jewish heart like you!
Prison is torture and doesn’t help. Whatever they did wrong, yes, but humans not meant to be kept in cells and treated bad.
Would you be saying the same thing if a business partner robs your Parnussa to the degree that your house is taken away and you need to move into a small apartment and need to beg mishpocho for help.
Oh please. The rich never lose. They have good lawyers and insurance on everything they own. They’re still flying and traveling all across the world vacationing like there is no tommorow. If someone is really having his house taken away by others, he is takeh a loh yutzlach.
There’s no jail punishment in the Torah. There’s something like house-arrest for crimes not sure a person committed but there’s no such thing as prison.
How can you do better?
To just saying;you are correct, however, living in a free society is a privilege and

If someone watches this video and it only arouses judgement and harsh words from a yid to a yid it is scary. It also gives us an understanding of the Eirav Rav; very sad neshama
