LeBron James deleted a tweet on Wednesday that shared a photo of the officer who shot 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant and included the caption, “You’re next.”

“I’m so damn tired of seeing Black people killed by police. I took the tweet down because its [sic] being used to create more hate,” the NBA star tweeted. “This isn’t about one officer.  it’s about the entire system and they always use our words to create more racism. I am so desperate for more ACCOUNTABILITY.”

Earlier on Wednesday, James tweeted a photo of Nicholas Reardon, the police officer identified by the Columbus police as having shot Bryant, alongside the caption “YOU’RE NEXT #ACCOUNTABILITY.”

The comment led to backlash from some U.S. senators like Tom Cotton and Ted Cruz, both of whom accused the Los Angeles Laker of “inciting violence.”

  1. Big overrated overpaid stiff. Who can forget how he choked in 2013 finals, game 6, game on the line, time running out, he misses a wide open 3 pointer? Chris Bosh was the real hero in that game. He gets the offensive rebound off of James’s miss, kicks it out to Ray Allen, who calmly hits a 3 to tie and send the game into overtime. Then Bosh blocks the final shot to seal the victory in overtime. If you analyze all the Championship teams that James was on, it was always the other players who shone and brought the team to victory. This duffus does a lot of talking but has NOTHING to back up his claims to fame. He is a media created celebrity. Jordan was clearly the greatest basketball player of all time.

  2. I don’t hold of the “Shut up and…” mentality when it comes to athletes, entertainers, celebrities and the like. They every right to their opinions and to express them.
Similarly, we have the right to express our opinions, e.g. “LeBron James is a know-nothing idiot who threatened a cop whose only “sin” was doing his job properly and saving a teen from a stabbing attack.”

    • Good point. Black celebrities like this jerk, and Snoop Dogg, are allowed to incite violence against WHITE males. After all those years that these multi millionaires had to suffer under systemic racism, it’s their “right” to try to have others, murder WHITE folks. You bring up a great point. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that myself. I must be a racist.

  3. What a blithering idiot. Do these morons realize they’re turning so many people off from their money-making, cash-cow brand that is the NBA? I’m so sick and tired of the ridiculous non-stop rhetoric. Shut up, and keep entertaining us with your incredible G-d given talents. You are not a politician. If you want to become one after you retire, gezunt aheit!
