bob-singer1New Jersey – Longtime Republican Senator Robert Singer will be the GOP nominee for the 30th District after handily defeating challenger Harold Herskowitz in Tuesday’s primary election.

Singer in the unofficial Monmouth County results received 3,838 votes to Herskowitz’s 425. That’s roughly 90 percent to 10 percent in favor of Singer. The tallies are preliminary.

Singer was first elected to the state Legislature in 1993. He currently chairs the Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens and the Higher Education committees.

The 30th District includes most of the Shore Area, stretching along the shoreline from Avon-by-the-Sea to Point Pleasant. It also includes Wall, Howell and Lakewood, from where both men hail.
