A lawyer for Edward Snowden said Tuesday he is working with American and German lawyers to help the former intelligence analyst return to the United States.
“I won’t keep it secret that he… wants to return back home,” Anatoly Kucherena said at a Moscow press conference. “And we are doing everything possible now to solve this issue. There is a group of U.S. lawyers, there is also a group of German lawyers and I’m dealing with it on the Russian side.”
Reuters notes that Kucherena “has links to the Kremlin” and that Russia has refused to extradite Snowden to the U.S., where he faces criminal charges for leaking classified information from the NSA. Read more.
